Which Phones Support eSIM

eSIM support is a floor, not a list: once a phone line adopted it, every newer model has it too. Any phone released since 2019 from the brands below supports eSIM, including this year's models.

iPhone 17 and newer βœ“ Compatible Every iPhone from the iPhone 11 (2019) onward: all models in the series (standard, Plus or mini, Pro, Pro Max, Air, e).
iPhone XS, XR, SE (2020 and 2022), 16e βœ“ Compatible The XS and XR (2018) were the first iPhones with eSIM. Not supported: iPhone X, 8, 7 and older, SE (2016).
iPad (cellular models) βœ“ Compatible iPad Pro (2018+), iPad Air (3rd gen+), iPad (7th gen+), iPad mini (5th gen+). Wi-Fi only iPads have no eSIM.

Motorola Razr (2019 and newer foldables), Edge 30 and newer βœ“ Compatible Every Razr foldable since 2019 and most Edge flagships since the Edge 30 have eSIM.
OnePlus 11 and newer, OnePlus Open βœ“ Compatible OnePlus 11, 12, 13 and the Open have eSIM in most regions. OnePlus 10 and older do not.

How to Check on Your Device

iPhone

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap About
  4. Look for Digital SIM or Available SIMs
  5. If present, your iPhone supports eSIM

Android

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Network & Internet or Connections
  3. Look for SIM Manager or Mobile Network
  4. If you see "Add eSIM" or "Download SIM", you're good to go

Important Notes

Carrier Unlock Required: Your device must be carrier-unlocked to use eSIMs from different providers.

Regional Variations: Some device models sold in certain countries may not support eSIM. For example, iPhones sold in mainland China do not support eSIM.

Software Updates: Make sure your device is running the latest software version for best eSIM compatibility.
