Do I need ID, an account, or KYC to buy a phone number plan?
No. PikaSim collects no identity data on any plan: no account, no email, no documents. Identification requirements for a mobile number, where they exist, are set by the operator that issues the number. If an issuing operator requires an identity verification step on a specific plan, the operator runs that step itself and the plan page says so before you buy. None of the plans currently on sale include one.
I got a text telling me to register to keep my line active. Do I have to?
No. On the Europe plan the issuing operator sends that message automatically to every new line, but it applies to stays longer than 30 days. Every plan we sell runs a single cycle of 30 days or less, so the registration does not apply to you and the text can be safely ignored. Your calls, texts, and data all work without it. If you would rather complete it anyway that is entirely your choice: the operator runs that step itself, and nothing you enter there reaches PikaSim.
Are these real phone numbers or VoIP?
Real carrier-assigned mobile numbers on licensed networks, delivered as eSIMs. They register on the cellular network like any SIM card, so they work with apps and services that reject VoIP numbers.
