Do I need to show ID or register to use a PikaSim eSIM in Thailand?
No. PikaSim data eSIMs activate with zero ID, no account, and no email or KYC. Thailand does require local physical SIMs to be registered with a passport, but that rule applies when you buy a SIM from a Thai carrier or shop. An eSIM you install before you arrive doesn't put you through that process. Just install the profile and connect.
Can I make calls or send texts in Thailand with these eSIMs?
No, the standard Thailand data eSIMs are data-only, so they carry no voice minutes or SMS. You can still call and message over the internet using apps like WhatsApp, Signal, LINE, or FaceTime, which is what most travelers use in Thailand anyway. If you need an actual phone number, PikaSim also offers separate phone-number eSIMs and SMS-verification numbers as different products.
How good is the coverage in Thailand?
Coverage is strong in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and the main tourist areas, running on major local networks through our supplier. Dense city and resort areas are reliable. Expect weaker or slower signal on remote islands, in the far north, and in rural or mountainous zones, which is normal for any provider there. We don't publish guaranteed speeds because they vary by location, network load, and your device.

Yes. You can pay by card or with crypto, including Bitcoin, Lightning, and Monero, with no account or email required. After payment you receive an eSIM to install, usually by scanning a QR code or adding it manually. Install it before you travel while you still have internet, then enable data roaming for the eSIM once you land in Thailand so it connects to a local network.
Can I top up my Thailand eSIM without making an account?
Yes. You top up using just the ICCID that identifies your eSIM, with no account or login needed. Keep that ICCID somewhere safe, since it's what you use to add more data later. Note that topping up depends on the specific plan still being available from our supplier. If a plan is retired, you may need to buy a new eSIM instead, so check before you run fully out of data.
