No, PikaSim data eSIMs activate with zero ID, no account, and no email. Kenya has SIM registration rules for physical local SIMs bought in-country, which require your passport and sometimes a photo. Our eSIMs skip that process entirely because you buy and activate them online before or after you arrive. You just install the eSIM profile and connect to a local network on landing.

Can I make calls or send texts with a PikaSim data eSIM in Kenya?

No, our data eSIMs are data-only, so they don't include a phone number, voice calls, or SMS. This means you also won't receive SMS verification codes on them. Apps that work over data such as WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, and their call features work fine. If you need an actual phone number, we sell separate phone-number eSIMs and SMS-verification numbers, which are different products.

How good is the coverage, and which network will I use?
